NatureTech Solutions – Update in Response to Hurricane Damages

Welcome to the NatureTech.Solutions web site, a legacy of the now-“sunsetted” Island Resources Foundation, which is designed to enable and support Caribbean innovators to qualify for the annual NatureTech Prize. Awards are granted for open-source technical innovations that promise to increase the effectiveness of natural or cultural resource management in Caribbean small islands.

NO APPLICATIONS WERE RECEIVED in response to the September, 2017, call for applications. In the event, however, in response to the enormous hurricane recovery need in the Eastern Caribbean from damages inflicted by Hurricanes Irma, Jose, and Maria, the Advisory Committee voted to devote the resources of the Potter Fund for NatureTech.Solutions for 2017 and 2018 (i.e., two $3,000 award cycles for a total of $6,000) for the hurricane recovery grant programs being administered by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands.

This web site is planned as a tool to stimulate the NatureTech grant program. If you wish to comment on the concept or implementation of the NatureTech.Solutions award program, please e-mail us at NatureTech@irf.org. Details of the application process on the Guidelines page.
